When I was diving in Roatan, Honduras last spring break, I saw thousands of garden eels coming out from the sand bank. Garden eels are cute eels that like to poke their heads from their burrows while most of their bodies remain hidden. It surprised me that the garden eel can be found in the Caribbean Sea since people usually talk about garden eels in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. After researching, I realized that garden eels in Caribbean sea belongs to a specie called Brown Garden Eel. These eels can reach a maximum length of 50 cm, which is smaller than regular eels.
