Crocodilefish is a common benthic fish in Mabul Island, a populated island near Sipadan. Although Mabul doesn't have large amount of large creatures, it is well known for its micro life. Besides cute nudibranch and other micro life, crocodilefish was almost a guaranteed gift in each dive. Crocodilefish is a average sized flattened fish that usually camouflages in the sandy bottom to wait for its prey, which are mainly small fishes and crustaceans. It's weird appearance and beautifully built eyes attracts many divers and underwater photographers.

What's very interesting is that the crocodilefish stayed still when I even used my pointer to touch it.
